Workshop for University High Ranking Officials 20.01.2014 – 31.01.2014
From January 20th to January 31st 2014 official representatives from Kazakh partner higher education institutions and Ministry of Education and Science of RK participated in a workshop which took place at the TU Dresden (Germany) and at University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (Austria). The workshop was a part of the TEMPUS IV Project “STUdents self-governance & Democratic Involvement in Kazakhstan”.
The first part of the workshop was at TU Dresden where the structure of student's self-government body of TU Dresden – the Student Council, the legal bases of student self-governance and its functioning as well as requirements and duties of students were presented.
During the workshop useful consultations and effective discussions were held among others, with the vice rector for academic and international affairs of TU Dresden, Prof. Susanne Strahringer, with Chairman of Study Commission of faculty of linguistics, literature and cultural studies Prof. Thomas Kühn and with the representative of TU Dresden International Office – Julia Paternoster.
The second part of the workshop took place at BOKU, Vienna where student's self-government in Austria was presented and discussed not only with the students of BOKU, but also with the dean of studies of BOKU Prof. Erika Staudacher and the Head of BOKU International Office Dr. Margarita Calderón-Peter. Also productive excursions on university campuses were organized.
At the end of the workshop all participants received attendance certificates.
