Regional conference in D. Serikbayev EKSTU

 

Regional conference of the project TEMPUS – “Studik: Students’ self-administration and democratic participation in Kazakhstan” took place in D. Serikbayev EKSTU, in April, 2015 within the framework of XV International scientific-technical conference of students, master students and young scientists “Creative work  for innovative development of Kazakhstan”. The representatives of regional universities (S.Amanzholov EKSU, KAFU, MESI, KAZGUU), of youth organizations, of Ust-Kamenogorsk akimat Youth center, of EKO Domestic policy administration took part in the work of the conference.

 

Bakyt Zlobin, coordinator of the project “Studik” in EKSTU started with opening speech. He told the participants of the conference about the importance of students’ self-administration activities in the universities of Kazakhstan, their development and improvement. 

 

Samat Baigereyev, head of students’ office, chairman of Committee for Matters Concerning Young Personspresented a report about realization of the project “Studik” in EKSTU. This report comprised main goals and aims of the project “Studik”, stages of realization and progress report within the framework of the project.

 

EKSTU students shared their impressions about foreign seminars in Europe and told about the state and role of students’ self administration in the countries of European Unit.

 

Assel Kaidarova, specialist of the Youth Center of Ust-Kamenogorsk akimat, distinguished the significance of such conferences, because students of different educational establishments must cooperate, as only through joint efforts it’s possible to solve students’ problems. It is really necessary for every student.

 

Besides students-activists of the city discussed the issues of regulatory and legal framework improvement for the activities of students’ administration in universities, motivation factors for stimulating students to take part in public work, influence of students’ self-administration bodies on formation of students’ public conscience, and for cooperation between students’ self-administration bodies and universities administration.

 

To sum up, in the result of the regional conference the decision was made to carry out co-operative activities devoted to development of students’ self-administration in East Kazakhstan.
